Musa Hixson

Spherical shapes have been a reoccurring image in my work for many years. These spheres represent a spirit that is continuously linked to the earth. In the past I dealt with a great deal of social commentary in my work. Currently, my work is mostly a free stream of consciousness thought, mixed with elements of social commentary. This is an approach that I feel addresses the abstractions in our lives. Our experiences are not straight forward or linear scenarios with well defined boundaries. I see life as abstract and sometimes ambiguous, while concurrently presenting certain rhythms. I judge my work by how well I stay in tune with these rhythms.
